Please note this information is based on the information we have received from the State at the Implementation Council meetings and based on current legislative language, any or all could change when the final approval is received.
The State has a Community First Services and Supports (CFSS) website where you can get more information. The link to that website is: http://mn.gov/dhs/people-we-serve/people-with-disabilities/services/home-community/programs-and-services/cfss.jsp
The Department of Human Services provided an updated timeline for the implementation of CFSS at the 11/19/14 Implementation Council meeting. They stated that due to the complexity of the different approvals that they need to receive from the federal government for CFSS and the amount of systems changes they will need to make, the soonest they anticipate CFSS starting is 1/1/16.
We know there are individuals and families that have been anxiously awaiting the start of CFSS. If you would like to explore options to the PCA program while you wait for CFSS to start please call our office at 952-935-3515 and ask for client services.
The State is looking at the possibility of a participant employer model in the current PCA program. This would allow the participant to be the employer. Accra is a current Fiscal Support Entity and may be able to assist participants who choose to do this. We will continue to update you as we get information.
