Policy on the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 for Vendors

Consumer Choice, Inc./Accra (hereinafter referred to as Accra), has a longstanding practice of fair and truthful dealing with its clients, families, health professionals, payors and other business associates. Accra is also committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations and ensuring that billing to federal and state sponsored programs is accurate and conforms to applicable law.

As an entity receiving or making annual Medicaid payments exceeding $5 million, Accra must comply with the terms and requirements of the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 (the “DRA”). In accordance with the DRA, Accra established written policies and procedures that provide detailed information about the Federal and Minnesota False Claims Acts, the Program Fraud Civil Remedies Act, relevant state laws, the whistleblower protections under such laws, and Accra’s policies for preventing and detecting fraud, waste, and abuse. The DRA requires that Accra disseminate this information to its employees, contractors, subcontractors, and agents and employees of its contractors, subcontractors, and agents.

Accra expects that each of its venders will ensure that any person(s) performing work for or on behalf of Accra will read, understand and abide by all of Accra’s policies. If there are specific persons within your company who should receive this information, please advise Accra.
